Smoking parents put kids at risk…

Of all common practices or habits to which we commit ourselves, smoking is probably the most common one. These days even teens have started smoking vigorously and it must be stopped some how. Parents have a great role to play if they must prevent their children from getting addicted to this habit too early in their lives.

Research has now proved that kids, who have their parents smoking near them often, develop a dependency for nicotine. When parents keep smoking when their children are around, they are subjected to passive smoking and they smell the puff. So it induces their addiction or chances of getting a dependency for nicotine, which in turn will induce them to start smoking themselves. Picking up smoking later, say about age 25 is at least manageable. But when guys start smoking right from age 14 or 15, they are bound to get down with severe health problems even before their forties, and may even be deprived of happiness in life.

The exposure of kids to second hand or passive smoking in cars or in homes must be prevented and it is the parents who must wake up now. Parents must stop smoking in vehicles when they have their children there. If the next generation is to be prevented from getting spoiled at such an early age, it is high time that proper non-smoking steps be taken today.

Weight loss helped me… 2

It was after a while that I realized that I was good at sports too. I used to play daily but I never put in my efforts and after that day, I played my heart out and with extra commitment and my friends were surprised by my game. We played soccer and it has been my favorite sport for a very long time.

Anyway, it was holiday season for us and we played extra hard in the evenings and went jogging in the morning. By continuing this routine for some days, I found out that all my pants were beginning to slip down from my waist. I was very happy and I had succeeded losing 2 inches from my waist and I had lost 9 kilograms after a few months. To aggravate my happiness, I had grown a few inches too. I stopped following that routine, but I still play a lot and am aware of my weight and I am maintaining my fitness pretty well.

Weight loss helped me… 1

This post is about the efforts I had taken to lose weight. It was some 2 to 3 years back and I used to be very short. It was during my college days and I used to be a bit on the heavier side and considering the fact that I was only 5 feet 4 inches tall. For that height, I was 74 kilograms and to be honest, noticed I was heavy only during the blood donation camp wherein I checked my weight. I was shocked at first as the amount I used to eat were not more than the amount my friends were able to eat. But I used to wonder how they remained fit and slim and I, the other way round.

I decided to lose weight and believe me, I did not go to any gymnasiums and I lost weight not by staying on a diet too. I started to play even harder than I used too and I put in more efforts.

Maintain your physique-2

Hello people… Let me continue from where I left in my previous post. Well, let me ask you one question to those people. You all take great care and expend a lot for your style, fashion and way of dressing. I too do that. But why do we do it? It is for the same reason that we need to tone up our body and show case a good structure.

Our personality gets a boost if we have a good physique. It also increases our moral strength and confidence. It allows us to stay healthy. So what else do we look for? But then time is a factor that we need to address. Exercise must be done daily and the correct time. We must not skip it. We need t plan and allocate time in advance or else in course of time, we will slowly but surely lose our spirit.

Maintain your physique-1

In one of my previous posts, I had stressed the need for every one of us to be extra conscious when it comes to our health. Along with health there is another factor to be addressed and that is our physique. Health is closely associated with physical fitness. If you maintain good fitness, you are bound to be hale and healthy.

Physique refers to the appearance and structure of your body. You need to build and tone up your body. This is done thorough regular exercise. You can either enroll yourself at a nearby gym or train under the supervision of your master. Or if you know the basics right, you can even set up your own gym at your home and start working on your physique. Some may ask why we need to do all this.
