Pleasure

Filed under: people — admin @ 5:39 am

My dictionary defines happiness as “pleasure” and pleasure as a feeling of “happy satisfaction and enjoyment.” As if that weren’t circular enough, when I turn to the word feeling, I find that a feeling is defined as “a perceived emotion” while an emotion is defined as a “strong feeling.” No matter. As the Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart famously said about pornography (as opposed to art), it is hard to define, but “I know it when I see it.” Happiness may mean sex, drugs, and rock and roll, the roar of the crowd, the satisfaction of a job well done, good food, good drink, and good conversation not to mention what psychologists call as a state of “flow,” of being so absorbed in something you do well that you scarcely notice the passage of time.

Biodiesel

Filed under: General — Tags: — admin @ 5:36 am

World is running out of fuel , People are in the hunt for the other renewable sources of energy. One type of a clean fuel is the Biodiesel. Biodiesel is one of the most thoroughly tested alternative fuels on the market. A number of independent studies have been completed with the results showing biodiesel performs similar to petroleum diesel while benefiting the environment and human health compared to diesel. That research includes studies performed by the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Stanadyne Automotive Corp. (the largest diesel fuel injection equipment manufacturer in the U.S.), Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute, and Southwest Research Institute. Biodiesel is the first and only alternative fuel to have completed the rigorous Health Effects testing requirements of the Clean Air Act. Biodiesel has been proven to perform similarly to diesel in more 50 million successful road miles in virtually all types of diesel engines, countless off-road miles and countless marine hours. Currently more than 300 major fleets use the fuel.

Computers then and now

Filed under: computers — admin @ 5:40 am

It’s becoming hard to remember the days of old. I’m speaking of prehistoric times, before computers had CD and DVD-ROM drives. (As frightening as it sounds, most young folks don’t remember a computer without one!) You already know that a modern multimedia computer requires at least a CD-ROM drive for installing software and games, digital video, interactive encyclopedias, and silliness such as talking bears . . . but you can actually do much more than that in the world of optical media. Today’s technology enables you to record your own data DVDs, data CDs, and audio CDs, or watch DVD movies with Dolby Digital Surround sound that you’ve recorded yourself!

Career

Filed under: people — admin @ 4:50 am

Most young people have the ambition to advance in their chosen, or accidentally found, career, to achieve success and security for themselves and their loved ones. This partly stems from the desire to be recognized and respected and also to have parents, family, and friends feel that their faith in them is vindicated. Lack of ambition generally results in lack of achievement and low financial status, unless one inherits or marries wealth. Yet ambition must be based on some reality or it leads to unhappiness and disappointment. You need to realize that achieving success requires dedication, hard work, and sacrifices by you and also by those closest to you. Therefore it is important to ask yourself whether there is a need to go through with the relentless pursuit of advancement, or whether you will be happy to do as little or as much as is needed to be comfortable with your present situation and enjoy life.
